Description

The Yomega Lancer™ is a revolutionary yo-yo that has been designed to be completely different from the ordinary. What makes this yo-yo so unique is the following:

A. Its use of a patented soft-core system that eliminates vibration, provides for a wild new "feel", and increases product durability. It's hard to imagine, but the Lancer's soft-core system allows the yo-yo to be bent and twisted without breaking it - it also returns to its original state and spacing ready for play. B. A new internal hub return system that ensures all types of responses depending on style and skill level. Click Here for a look!

C. An exact adjustable gap using four spacers with combinations that allow gap adjustments from eight to thirteen one hundredths of an inch. No longer do you have to worry about finding your sweet spot. Now you can set it and forget it. Click Here for a view of the Lancer and an explanation of gap settings.

D. A large bearing and poly-cotton string for higher performance.

E. A stainless steel axle design that allows for superior strength and a lifetime of corrosion free play.

Colors

The Lancer™ comes in four colors, each of which have secondary coloration. Also, the outer hub part of the yo-yo is interchangeable so a player can mix and match one yo-yo with another of a different color to create their own unique look.

Specifications

For those players interested in weight, height and other specs the Lancer™ is 1.48 inches wide and 2.2 inches high. It weighs in at 71 grams.

Replacement Parts

Parts for the Lancer™ will be available in Yomega's online store once the yo-yo goes on sale or through a future link on this page.

Maintenance

Like most Yomega yo-yos, the Lancer™ may occasionally need lubrication to increase responsiveness - this will vary depending on your style of play and skill level. See the bearing yo-yo instructions for maintenance informations.

Lancer™ Frequently Asked Questions

How do you get to the stored spacers?
The Lancer has an adjustable gap that relies on 4 spacers. Each spacer has a number pressed into it which, when used in combination with another, adds up to the total gap width. The gap widths vary from 8 to 13 hundredths of an inch. The wider the gap the more string tricks you can do but the less responsive the yoyo becomes. At wide gaps the yoyo will require a bind to return it.
To get at the spacers, unscrew the yoyo and peal back the internal hub. The axle should unscrew. If not, you can press it through the side wall of the yoyo and press fit it back in later. Once you have exposed the spacers, you can remove them and place them into the inner hub with the gap combination you desire. Note: if you cannot remove the spacer from its stored location easily, use the axle as a tool to pry it out.
Also, remember to place the unused spacers into the storage area. Note: When storing the spacers be sure to place them facing down. Failure to store the spacers in properly will result in poor yoyo performance.

Will the return hubs need to be replaced?
The yoyo hubs are very durable and should not need replacement.

What is the best spacing for beginners?
The Crossfire comes out of the pkg set to its smallest setting of 8 hundredths of an inch. This is the best setting for beginners.

What does the inner rubber core do?
The inner rubber core - or soft shock system - eliminates internal vibration and increases product durability. This means the yoyo won't break easily by overtightening or dropping it and it will spin smoothly.

My yoyo is not returning well, what do I do?
If your yoyo is set to the smallest setting of 8 hundredths of an inch it may be time to lubricate the bearing and axle. To do this, unscrew the yoyo and place a small drop on the axle next to the bearing.

If your yoyo is set to a larger gap setting, the unresponsiveness is normal. You will need to learn how to bind a yo-yo to provide for return.

The Lancer is wobbling and does not spin long anymore - what's wrong?
If you suddenly see a drop in the performance of the Lancer, please check to make sure you have the spacers stored properly. Next make sure the inner return hub is pressed in all the way (it needs to be flush with the inner part of the yoyo), and lastly make sure your yoyo is tightened securely. If you still having problems, please contact us at info@yomega.com.

Will my axle system ever rust?
The axle system in the Crossfire is made of stainless steel. It won't rust or degrade overtime and is super strong for long lasting durability.

How do I fine tune my Lancer?
The Lancer allows tuning by allowing a player to rotate the halves by overtightening the yo-yo. To fine tune the yo-yo and minimize vibration, simply turn the halves in opposite directions - usually in 1/8" increments. After turning, play with it to see if distortion is reduced, if not, keep turning and playing until you find the yo-yo's sweet spot.

How do I prevent the yo-yo from slipping out at wide gaps?
The internal hubs can be sanded down to provide a more friction like surface. This will reduce slippage and can be customized to a player's liking. To accomplish this, remove the inner hub and spacer. Sand to desired texture with coarse sand paper. Test until desired level is achieved.
